Joan Kaufman is a Canadian multi-disciplinary artist whose practice is based in sculpture, photography, drawing, video and sound composition.  Her work encompasses photographic, filmic, and video constructs that probe the human condition and its relationship to the natural world. By capturing and deconstructing aspects of nature she explores ambiguity – the flux between physical and psychological spaces. Kaufman has exhibited nationally and internationally; is the recipient of Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council and Manitoba Arts Council grants; and has works in both public and private collections. Most recently her work was shown in Venice, Italy. Her work is represented by Lonsdale Gallery.  See www.joankaufman.com and ccca.ca
